Companion App v1.46.0

MeshCore Companion App Version 1.46.0: Enhancements for Off-Grid Communication

We are pleased to announce the release of version 1.46.0 of the MeshCore Companion App. This update introduces a range of improvements and new features designed to further optimize the user experience and reliability of your MeshCore network. Special attention has been given to user-friendliness and app stability.

Dedicated Channel Settings Screen

This update introduces a dedicated screen for channel settings. This centralizes important options, making the management of your communication channels more intuitive. Functions such as renaming channels, viewing participants, and managing blocked users are now neatly organized in one place.

Automatic Message Deletion

A new feature allows you to set a retention period for channel messages. After this period, messages will be automatically deleted, contributing to better clarity and freeing up storage on your device. This is particularly useful for active users.

Enhanced Contact Sharing with Sensor Data

When sharing a contact from the message composer, you can now also select sensors whose data should be included. This expands the possibilities of information transfer and enables more comprehensive contact data sharing within the MeshCore network.

Optimized iOS Bluetooth Connections

A critical bug related to BLE State Restoration on iOS has been fixed. This leads to a significant improvement in background Bluetooth connections on iOS devices, ensuring a more stable and reliable communication base with your MeshCore devices.

Message Composer Input Focus

A new setting allows the message composer input field to be automatically focused. This saves a tap when entering messages and speeds up the communication flow. You can enable this option, depending on your preferences, in the app settings:
CLI
set config.message.autofocus true
save

Geodata Validation for Local Maps

Before displaying contacts on the local map, the app now validates Latitude and Longitude values. This prevents the display of erroneous positions and contributes to the accuracy of position reporting.

iPadOS Refinements and UI Improvements

A bug where dropdown menus on iPadOS 26.1+ would instantly close if tapped near the status bar has been resolved. Additionally, the Border Radius of popup menus has been increased from 2px to 12px, giving the dialog box a more modern and appealing look.
